After his trip to Los Angeles last week, our very own Paul "ReDeYe" Chaloner has given his views on The CGS Region One Combine & Draft in an article for the CGS website. According to ReDeYe the Combine and Draft aren't just simply another tournament where you simply turn up, play and leave, and contains essential advice for those players who are hoping to be drafted in the other CGS regions. ReDeYe on Professionalism: It may seem obvious and it should be but it’s worth looking at here. Specifically for the teams in CS:S the GM’s will be assessing how you work, what do you do with tactics, do you listen to your team mates, do you run solo a lot, how do you perform on camera and in interviews and how do you come across to others at the event. Do you cope with TV cameras around you during your matches, how do you cope with a commentator calling your shots in the background and how do you deal with defeat. These are just some of the many attributes GM’s will be scouting for and there are many other area’s to consider, but above all else, do you act professionally whilst not playing, do you swear and shout at other players during matches? Remember, this is a highly televised league on major TV channels around the world and with some huge sponsors like Mountain Dew and Xbox360. What do you think they would be saying to the GM’s if their team or players were acting poorly whilst representing their brands? You can read the full article on the CGS website .
