With the CGS UK and European combine and drafs fast approaching, QuadV commentator Paul "ReDeYe" Chaloner has been interviewed for both the CGS and Edge of Gaming websites. Over at the Edge of Gaming website, ReDeYe's former Unreal Tournament teammate ioNz has an indepth interview ranging across a number of topics, of which a preview can be read below, and on The CGS website ReDeYe, and 7 other notable figures in the eSports scene give their answers to the question, "How has CGS changed the way competitive gamers are thought of in terms of professionalism? Do you believe the steps the league is taking to popularize eSports will allow professional video gaming to be perceived in a positive light from the mainstream media?" You can read the interviews on both The CGS website, and the Edge of Gaming website.
edge`ioNz - As you have said, you recently created the prestigious QuadV which has seen instant success. What are QuadV's aims for the future and do you plan to work on making esport commentary a more mainstream and public practise? quadV|ReDeYe - We formed QuadV in March this year and we have set it up as a business going forward with a full business plan and opportunities for investors to come in and help us get to where we eventually want to be. Our first year goal was low key, but actually it has exploded in many ways and we achieved more than I could imagine we would in 6 months, in fact more like where I thought we would be after 18 months. Having said that, our long term goal is two fold in that we would like to grow as a broadband TV provider of live tournaments from events and online but we also recognise that we are creating and helping our talented commentator team grow too. With that side of the business we are also setting up a kind of talent agency, which is why you will see us loaning out our talent to other organisations and of course allowing tournaments to hire our commentators on an individual basis too. In this way, we hope to allow our commentators to grow and improve and add the skills needed to go from being an internet radio broadcaster right up to doing live mainstream TV. As far as the company is concerned our long term goal has always been to take what we do, learn, develop and grow into a full blown TV station dedicated to all things gaming, adding shows and live broadcasts of tournaments and matches around the world. We have one watch word with everything we do and that is "professional" and I think it has and will continue to serve us well in everything we attempt and try to do going forward. |
