(LONDON, UK) - 16 May 2008 - QuadV Ltd, the world's premier eSports broadcasting and talent agency, today announced the expansion of its coverage to the North American market. Heading QuadV's operations in the region will be Alexander Garfield, Executive Director of Team Evil Geniuses, North America's most prestigious independent professional gaming team, and the community-based CSPromod project.
"It's truly an honor to join up with QuadV and be presented with an opportunity of such magnitude," said Garfield. "QuadV's exponential growth, in terms of both popularity and scope of coverage, over the past year has been nothing short of remarkable. I have a great deal of respect for how they do things as an organization, and I find their standards of broadcasting quality to be truly professional on all levels. QuadV's level of coverage is exactly what the eSports industry needs, and I'm very excited to help bring it to North American gamers."
"QuadV are thrilled at the addition of Alex, Corey and Griffin to the team, with the start of our North American operations," said Paul "ReDeYe" Chaloner, Director of QuadV. "We have spent a long time making sure that we had the best commentators and the best possible director for our efforts in North America, people who really understand our work ethic and how we operate and what we are trying to achieve for gaming to progress, we could not wish for a better set of people to join us."
"North America has always been a target to include in our coverage," explained Chaloner, "but only when we had the right staff and the right partnerships in place with leagues and we certainly have that now, especially with CEVO. We have had a lot of support from people in the US and Canada asking us to cover North American leagues and now they get their wish."
QuadV North America's inaugural coverage initiative will be CEVO-P Counter-Strike: Source Season 6, with live match broadcasts on Monday and Thursday nights, and subsequent VOD's available for view at CEVO.com. Anchoring the casts will be none other than Corey Dunn, easily one of the most recognized play-by-play voices in eSports today, as well as a community favorite. Currently earning his degree in broadcasting, over the past three years Corey has appeared on such mainstream networks as MTV, CBS, CSTV, and GameplayHD, in addition to his hundreds of casts on various eSports networks.
"After a substantial hiatus from eSports broadcasting, in CEVO and QuadV I was presented with an opportunity that I just couldn't pass up," remarked Dunn. "CEVO revolutionized competitive gaming over the internet several years ago, and since their inception we've grown to view eSports online in an entirely different light. CEVO-P will provide me with the quality of organization and competition that I need to orchestrate casts of the highest quality."
Providing color commentary will be Counter-Strike legend Griffin "shaGuar" Benger. Benger, arguably the most globally recognized and followed player in the history of the game, needs no introduction. His Counter-Strike resume includes membership in such elite teams as zEx, TSG, NoA, 3D, and EG, and championships in such events as the CPL, WEG, and CGS. Benger, a two-time GGL V-Sports All Star, is also well-known for his role in changing Counter-Strike's money system, as well as his witty and entertaining personality.
"I think Corey and I are going to do some major damage. I don't think there's ever been a broadcasting duo quite like us in Counter-Strike, and we're going to do some things people haven't seen before," said Benger. "We want to provide the community with a casting pair that it can truly embrace as its own; I think we'll put on a really good show."
QuadV North America's coverage of CEVO-P Counter-Strike: Source Season 6 will begin on Monday, May 19th with broadcasts of action from week 3:2 on de_season (matches and times TBA), and continue on every Monday and Thursday through to the event's conclusion. Live streams will be available at QuadV.com, with VOD's subsequently available at CEVO.com.
