Tonight at 21.00 sees the finale of the Clanbase EuroCup XV for Enemy Territory, with Evolve Gaming taking on pro5! Of course, QuadV will be there to cover it, with both TosspoT and Splodge on air providing commentary on QuadV Radio 2. pro5 came from the Loser Bracket and have to win 2 maps to be victorious here, with Evolve only needing to take 1 map to secure the win. Evolve have only dropped one map so far in the tournament, against TLR, a side who were defeated 4-2 in the Loser Bracket Final by pro5. After the anti-cheat bans of Keran and _shy, pro5 have drafted in the experienced former Plan-B player potter to their lineup, with Future (ex-Elite Clan) coming in for perfo for Evolve.

Don't forget to tune in on QuadV Radio 2 with TosspoT and Splodge at 21.00 for what looks to be an exciting EuroCup Final!

Once again Paul "ReDeYe" Chaloner is in the news, this time being the star of The Clanbase Report for Monday June 18th. Once again ReDeYe talks about the Championship Gaming Series, aswell as answering a number of other questions on his shoutcasting career.

Clanbase: At this point I’d like to bring up a recent quote of yours: “I’m trying to help gaming grow, we all win that way, there are too many people in this for their own benefit and they don’t realize that they won’t achieve anything unless gaming grows too” – It’s so damn true, and sometimes I wonder if some of the “flamers” in the community realize how detrimental they are to the growth of e-Sport – How do you feel about that?

ReDeYe: I don’t see flamers as being detrimental to gaming in principle, they have just as valid opinion as anyone, but sometimes gaming can seem (to an outside) as very immature and the issue is, IT IS! We are lucky that gaming transcends color, religion, creed, national borders and continues to draw people together into a small world of their own, especially when it comes to game communities. It is hardly surprising that some will flame CGS or any other league for that matter, if their game doesn’t get the coverage or doesn’t get used.

Sometimes I get upset by the amount of flame, but I think sometimes we forget that in gaming, not everyone wants it to go big and professional and have TV coverage and that’s another set of players and another set of opinions we need to respect. Gaming is still at the end of the day a fun hobby to a lot of people and there is nothing wrong with that either, just as there is nothing wrong with wanting it to grow and be on TV.

After his trip to Los Angeles last week, our very own Paul "ReDeYe" Chaloner has given his views on The CGS Region One Combine & Draft in an article for the CGS website.  According to ReDeYe the Combine and Draft aren't just simply another tournament where you simply turn up, play and leave, and contains essential advice for those players who are hoping to be drafted in the other CGS regions.

ReDeYe on Professionalism:

It may seem obvious and it should be but it’s worth looking at here. Specifically for the teams in CS:S the GM’s will be assessing how you work, what do you do with tactics, do you listen to your team mates, do you run solo a lot, how do you perform on camera and in interviews and how do you come across to others at the event. Do you cope with TV cameras around you during your matches, how do you cope with a commentator calling your shots in the background and how do you deal with defeat. These are just some of the many attributes GM’s will be scouting for and there are many other area’s to consider, but above all else, do you act professionally whilst not playing, do you swear and shout at other players during matches? Remember, this is a highly televised league on major TV channels around the world and with some huge sponsors like Mountain Dew and Xbox360. What do you think they would be saying to the GM’s if their team or players were acting poorly whilst representing their brands?

Tomorrow at 19.00 Team MGC takes on MultiGamer in the Upper Bracket Round 2 of the ClanBase EuroCup for CounterSrike:Source. MultiGamer pulled off a great upset in the last round to defeat 4Kings heavily on Nuke after a poor performance on Inferno to advance into the 2nd round, whereas Team MGC earned a bye with their strong group stage performance. You can catch this match live on QuadTV 2 with Jay!

Line Ups

Team MGC MultiGamer  jaDe_bars Drozo Tifon Snipealot Limper Infected Iceberg Zeek Progressor Gem The teams gave the following statements:

MGC^Progressor

I guess that it's going to be a close match; We didn't practise a lot at this week after LAN, so I don't know how it will be, but we will try our best as always.

MG^Juice

I'm very excited about the match, MGC have proven themselves a really worthy team online. MG has always had the reputation for only being good at LAN, I hope they are able to prove that they can keep the level of focus they did against 4Kings tonight. However I'm not sure if the boys will come prepared enough for today's match. Final exams and high temperatures in Norway have taken their toll on the practise time the lads have gotten in.

Don't forget to tune in with Jay on QuadTV 2 at 7pm to catch this game live, only on QuadV!

Several months ago those who follow the "1337 Wednesdays" show suggested something which we couldn't pass up as an opportunity to be very childish with some hardware on camera.

Tonight you can see the end product at 19.00 on QuadTV 1; the first ever show of Top Gear For Gamers. Much along the same sort of lines as Top Gear on the BBC, except that this time, its aimed at gamers and hardware geeks like you and me.In this first pilot show, we'll be testing the Logitech MX518 and the Saitek Eclipse II keyboard, and you can be assured that the results won't be pretty.

We will also be showing you what happens when you mix one ReDeYe with lots of sugar, a cramped car and a 7 hour trip to Holland in a Delia Smith-esque kind of way. Again, it's not pretty, but certainly with interesting results.

The whole show (30 minutes) will be aired as a premier for the first time tonight and streamed live on TV Channel 1, with the Video On Demand section containing the finished article straight after the show for anyone who missed it.

WARNING : This program is rated mature and contains strong language that some may find offensive.

At 19.00 you can also catch the ClanBase Conterstrike: Source Euro Cup Upper Bracket Round 2 encounter between Wizards QPad and Team Logitech on de_dust2. This can be seen live on QuadTV 2 with Jay!
