MVS Challenge Cup - Playoffs Rd.1
Locked vs. versatile
Posted by Jay on 11/05/2009 13:02:32 GMT
Tonight on QuadV sees the start of the Microsoft Visual Studio Challenge Cup Playoffs. With UK One Six having been somewhat neglected in recent years the guys over at Infinity Gaming managed to pull together every solid UK squad for their chance to partake in an on-line tournament that has over £3,000 up for grabs. Tonight will see Locked take on versatile for the right to play Team America in the second round.
The playoffs are to be contested in a best of three format with the maps being Nuke, Dust2 and finally if needed Train. The clash between Locked and versatile is arguably the most interesting clash in Round 1 of the playoffs. With two heavily CT sided maps in the mix, side choice and pistol rounds will be of upmost importance to both teams.
Join Jay from 19:45 BST for pre-game coverage on TV4.

Posted by Jay on 23/04/2009 15:15:48 GMT

With the Microsoft Visual Studio Challenge well underway thoughts are starting to turn to the playoffs and who will get out of the hotly contested group stages. First we will see Vitalsigns take on verstaile in a winner takes all battle for qualification in group A. Then at 21:00 BST (WEST) we will see ditto take on Euphoria.
Week three will see the teams duke it out on Inferno. A map which can go either way if the T-Side utilizes their flashbangs and HE correctly or if the CT's have a particularly good AWPer on either Banana or Mid. With a place in the playoffs at stake expect no punches pulled.
Join Jay for this double header of One Six awesomeness. With qualification spots up for grabs in a money tournament expect some quality Counter-Strike. Tune in from 19:45 BST (WEST) on TV4 to follow the action live.
ClanBase NationsCup Final
France vs. Finland
Posted by Jay on 22/04/2009 17:51:22 GMT
Tonight on QuadV sees the culmination of the ClanBase NationsCup XII. France will take on Finland in a battle between argubly the two best CS:S national teams in the world. With the Finns the underdogs and the mighty French playing CS:S just about as well as it has ever been played expect the Finnish team to pull out some of that Finnish flair as they will try to bamboozle the French defence.
In a Bo3 format maps of course will be a huge issue, with Finland picking the French's percieved weakest map Train and the French opting for their strongest map Dust 2 expect the match to be a classic.
Join Jay and Millen from 19:00 BST (WEST) on TV1.

Adrenaline Junkies/toot! and decerto/coercive
Posted by Jay on 16/04/2009 14:15:58 GMT
Tonight on QuadV see's the second week of play in Microsoft Visual Studio Challenge Cup. With UK One Six's best teams all assembled for their chance to get their hands on a share of over £3,000 prize fund. First of all we will see Adrenaline Junkies vs. toot! at 20:00 BST followed hotly on the heals by decerto taking on coercive at 21:00 BST.
Adrenaline Junkies will be looking to pick up three points after a first week draw against GYRO. Meanwhile both decerto and coercive faltered in Week one with coercive going down 16/14 against CMAX.gg and decerto taking a good old fashioned whippin vs H2k.
Week Two see's old One Six favorite Nuke rear it's head. With it's paper thin walls and CT bias expect to see some creative use of flashbangs, smoke and HE. Join Jay from 19:45 BST on TV1 for week two of MVS Challenge Cup.
